Just sharing !

Loved this article and just wanted to share.
Very proud of this African born physician giving back to his people.

"STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • Kofi Boahene is a surgeon at the Johns Hopkins Hospital who regularly volunteers across Africa
  • A fifth of all African-born physicians work overseas, according to one study
  • Boahene says many African doctors in the diaspora are giving back to the continent
  • "African doctors may be living overseas, but their hearts are in Africa," he says

Editor's note: Born in Ghana, Kofi Boahene is associate professor of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, facial plastics and reconstructive surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
(CNN) -- On a recent medical volunteer trip I was introduced to an elderly woman on the surgical wards. She had a growing tumor that had deformed her face and was threatening her life. For three months she was told a set of special equipment was needed to perform her surgery. As she waited for this equipment, her tumor grew larger and compromised her vision in one eye.

The link below will take you to the full story: You can also find it on CNN - African Voices

food for thought !

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
– Winston Churchill

If we all thought and functioned like the statement says , there will be no Boston bomb ! I can only hope that we have seen the last of such terrorist acts.

Praying for victims of the Boston marathon bomb blast !

THE CIRCUMSTANCES IN WHICH WE FIND OURSELVES ARE NOT A TRUE MEASUREMENT OF HOW MUCH – OR HOW LITTLE, GOD LOVES OR CARES FOR US!!!

This is statement is  hard to swallow, when you see evil daily. But I know he loves us more than we can imagine, and will take care of all those affected yesterday.

My prayers are with all those affected yesterday in the bomb blast, when an evil soul went to play and left people wounded and some dead.

God has justice for all in good time

FOADAC UPDATE !!

Greetings to all who stop by to check us out,
If you have been following us , you will know that we did a have a shoe box event a few months ago. There was also lots of gifts , clothing and school supplies donated to foadac. The owner of "Gift of Niceness " donated over a hundred teddy bears for the children at the orphanage.

I am elated to report that all donated items made it to their destination and were all distributed to the children. Joy and happiness can't begin to express how I feel.

Each time  I look at the smiles on their faces , it allows me to reflect on the many blessings that we have and take for granted. It also gives me an opportunity to recommit myself to serving those less fortunate.

I can only hope that you feel the same.
Stay tuned for pictures that will tell the story.

Best Regards.
