If certain targets are met, the rate
of new infections may be down to 12,000 a year by 2025, which would mark a
transition toward the end of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, a new study, published in
the American Journal
of Preventive Medicine, said.
Every so often I experience stories that highlight how
things can be small in action but big in impact. And since it's Ramadan I'd say
it's an apt time to share one. This story is about someone I work with
(anonymous) that won a year's worth of free Chik-fil-A when a new one opened up
downtown.
Now nobody would've judged this person if they decided to keep it on
the low so they could have unhindered access to a mountain of chicken sandwiches
and waffle fries.
But what happened instead was it got put out for the entire
office to use so that anyone who was strapped for cash could still get lunch.
Since then it's been able to feed not only the staff countless times but
homeless folks as well.
This person is pretty humble (but won't readily admit
it) and I'll probably be getting scolded for putting them on blast. But I think
the greater good here is a chance to show that when you have more than you
need, giving a little can go a long way.
It's one thing to know about HIV, but it is another thing to see and speak with actual people living with the disease, and to hear their story.

I had to take a minute and reflect on the ongoing events in Southern Cameroon.
This part of the country in which Foadac operates is facing a civil crisis at this time. In the face of a revolution and the fight for democracy and freedom of a a people , there is always those left along the wayside: Children !
Please pray for the country of Cameroon in West Africa , that we are saved from a civil war. It is not easy for a country to regain normalcy after a crisis of that nature.
The West African Nation Of Cameroon is experiencing a civil crisis at this time.
Many young people have lost their lives fighting for a fair government. At the end of this all will be children left o fend for them selves thus a continuous need to care for orphaned children.
