DID YOU KNOW ( 2 )

Did you know that :

Toys help children develop their social awareness, imagination, visual motor capabilities and thinking processes. Play is a very serious activity for children worldwide and often represents a primary and valuable means of learning. Since many toys are important learning instruments, children should have easy access to appropriate toys in order to explore and choose those which interest them. A Toy Library provides such access to children in orphanages.(courtesy of WWO)

In that light , Foadac orphanages can use a toy library. many of you have donated lots of toys to us and we commend your efforts. More of such donations will enhance the creation of our very own toy library.

Response from Dr J

Hi Ju and Ethel,
Wow!!! I missed this one. What a drive??? I am so happy for you.I know what it means to do "Non-Profit" work. It can be very daunting on all fronts. The pictures speak of a successful event. I hope the packages have a safe travel. May the gifts bless these children beyond their material needs. Please include my email on your mailing list so I can get emails like this directly. Sometimes I tune out my EXSSA email list when I have some serious stuff to attend to which has been the case for some time now.

Love, always,
Dr. J

Shipment is in progress !

At FOADAC, we  believe that children belong and thrive in a family-environment. That is why we try our best to do what we can in order to bring these orphans, some how close to having just that.
Right now foadac is in the process of completing the shoe box project. Boxes of items such as school supplies , clothing , shoes , toys and more, have been put in barrels ready for shipment.
It will take about a month and half to get to Africa. Hopefully in time for each child to feel the soft cuddle of a teddy bear to remind them that is hope yet.

I want to say a big thank you to Dr & Mrs. Laveist of  Owings Mills here in Baltimore for donating 123 freshly minted teddy bears and 60 baby under wears ( wanzies ) to serve many children in the orphanage.
Her company is called 'Gifts of Kindness'  and yes they shared their kindness with us in a big way.

Some Facts to Know About ( 1 )

DID YOU KNOW THAT ,

" There are an estimated 153,000,000 orphans worldwide. Some of these orphans have lost one parent, some both, and some are "virtual" orphans that have been turned out onto the streets by their families, but all are vulnerable and in need of help. Without assistance these orphans continue in the cycle of poverty, HIV/AIDS, trafficking, prostitution and slavery that haunts developing countries. By getting involved with World Orphans you can help break this cycle, put a child back in a family, and put him or her on the road to success."

United we stand divided we fall !!

I really like this line.

'...I believe we can seize this future together because we are not as divided as our politics suggests. We're not as cynical as the pundits believe. We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions, and we remain more than a collection of red states and blue states. We are and forever will be the United States of America...'

Election Day !!!

My candidate is going to win tomorrow! How do I know that? God chooses our leaders all the time, even bad ones. So, I will celebrate if my candidate wins because it is God’s Will and I will rejoice if he loses because God knows his future better than me...Better safe than sorry, choose life over power, and stop the hate.
Peace!
